Santa Maria is the second largest city in Santa Barbara County, and due to an 8% growth rate the city will soon overtake Santa Barbara. The city is also constructing a $28 million dollar library that will be able to service residents from the near-by agricultural communities. The library will become the heart of a new downtown Santa Maria.

Solvang is a small town with a strong Danish influence as can be noted by the many windmills and unique buildings. The Oscar winning movie “Sideways” was filmed here in a town that is the site of many small wineries.
