The Huntington Beach has strong economic ties to other Orange County cities such as Santa Ana.
Santa Ana is the largest city is the largest city in Orange County and serves as the County Seat. The city has gained recognition as the home of the Glenn L. Martin aviation company that merged with Lockheed to form LockheedMartin, the largest aviation and weapons company in the world. The local economy has suffered since the end of the Cold War when a large downsizing of the military caused many layoffs in the local aerospace and weapons sector.
The city is starting to improve the local economy and is building a 37-story office tower that will be the tallest building in Orange County and a huge boost to the city’s commercial real estate market. The new office space will bring in companies that will greatly improve the economy of the city and provide many new jobs to Orange County residents. The city also benefits from economic ties to the LA County and the other large Orange County cities such as Anaheim and Irvine via the many freeways that intersect Santa Ana including the Santa Ana Freeway (Interstate 5). |
