The Queen City
Situated on the Ohio River, Cincinnati is the third largest city in Ohio and has a large metro area of over 2 million people that includes areas in Indiana and Kentucky. The city is home to many firsts in American history. The first Jewish Hospital was established here and the city was also the first to own a major railroad system and operate a municipal fire department. The Cincinnati Stock Exchange was the first exchange in the U.S. to operate completely electronically and "The Sons of Daniel Boone" who were the forefathers to the Boy Scouts originated here in Cincinnati. Bordering Kentucky, Cincinnati was a major terminus for the Underground Railroad during the slavery era and became home to many freed slaves. Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom's Cabin and a famous abolitionist, was a major driver of the abolitionist movement in the area. The city is also well known for its beauty, with many city parks and a beautiful riverside setting.

Companies like Procter & Gamble, Chiquita Brands, Toyota's North American headquarters, Roto-Rooter, Federated Department Stores (which include Macy's and Bloomingdales), and GE's Aircraft Engines Division all help to make the city a strong economic player in the region. The city is also home to three former U.S. Presidents; Ulysses S. Grant, William Howard Taft, and William Henry Harrison. Other famous residents of Cincinnati include Neil Armstrong, Steven Spielberg, Pete Rose, Ted Turner, and William McGuffey who wrote the McGruffy Reader series.

The Bengals, professional football, are a team that has seen a comeback in recent years and was their division champion during the 2005 season.
