The Fort Worth Economic & Community Development Department offers incentives and assistance that will improve the economic climate of the city. The department offers a micro loan program for new companies too small too small to use commercial banks. The maximum loan amount is $25,000 and is for start-up companies dedicated to keeping jobs in Fort Worth.
A Foreign Trade Zone is located in Fort Worth and can greatly benefit companies that import foreign goods. Use of the FTZ can save businesses on duties and tariffs. Subzones can also be set up by petition for manufacturing plants. Duties and tariffs are deferred until products are moved out of the FTZ and into the U.S. market.
