Oaktown
Oakland is a major port city located on the eastern shore of the San Francisco Bay. The city is an important piece of the Bay Area economy and is well connected to the other cities by a vast network of freeways and bridges. The city, like San Francisco across the bay, began to seriously grow during and directly after the Gold Rush of 1849. Oakland started to develop into a major rail hub in the 1860's and after the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 the city's population almost doubled as refugees began to come across the bay. By 1930, Oakland was the major manufacturing, industrial, and shipbuilding city in the area.

The city also has a great professional sports array with NBA, NFL, and a Major League Baseball. The Oakland Raiders are one of the most storied teams in the NFL, having a fanatic fan base and one of the best winning percentages of any professional sports team, the Raiders will always put on a good show for the fans. The Oakland Athletics are a talented baseball team that regularly plays in the playoffs and can boast the best young pitching staff in the league. The Golden State Warriors are an up-and-coming basketball team that could be on their way to the playoffs for the first time in many years.
