Corona is another major city in Riverside County and is home to an real estate market that is rivaling Riverside’s. The city was once mainly an agricultural city and served as a waypoint for agricultural products leaving the Inland Empire and had its own small agriculture and ranching industry.
The city soon became a major suburb of Los Angeles and Orange County. The house prices are considerably lower than that of the coastal cities and the Riverside Freeway provided a perfect route for commuters. However, with the large growth of Riverside County, the freeway has been unable to effectively handle the large amounts of traffic leaving the Inland Empire. Due to this fact, Corona and Riverside have begun to develop their own office parks and are attracting more companies from Orange County and Los Angeles that wish to find lower property costs, a more business friendly government, and be closer to their employees. As the county develops more industry the Inland Empire will soon be a more self-sustaining economy. |
