As a former Boom City that became the center of a thriving metropolis, San Francisco knows it must always be looking toward the future. The city has many assets that will assure San Francisco remains an economic player.
The SF Airport is the ninth largest in the world and is the midway point between Tokyo and London. Handling 95% of the Bay Area’s international travel, SFA has recently invested $1.5 billion in upgrades including a consolidated car rental area, terminals linked by rail service, modern parking garages, and more. Other air travel options are Oakland International Airport, connected to the city via BART, and San Jose International Airport.
San Francisco is also updating its convention hosting capabilities. The Moscone Center, San Francisco’s main convention center, has over 600,000 square feet of meeting space and is in walking distance of over 20,000 hotel rooms. San Francisco also recently completed construction on Moscone West, which will offer another 300,000 square feet of modern convention space.
The city has also begun to revitalize the waterfront. This historical area is being refurbished in order to attract more residents and visitors. The project has also brought more office space to the waterfront and has increased the capacity of the city’s Ferry Terminal. |
