Accessibility

What IS accessibility and why is it necessary on a website? Here's why. Approximately 15% of the world's population has some sort of disability. It could be a visual, hearing, mobility, or cognitive disability. And simply put, it means that tools and technologies that make up a website are usable to all no matter what abilities or disabilities a user may have.

SOHO Prospecting is fully committed to provide a website for use that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of the technology used or the user’s ability. We actively and continually work to improve, as well as increase, the accessibility and usability of our website and adhere to currently available standards and guidelines.

Please notice the wheelchair icon at the bottom left of your browser window. If you click on it, a dialog box will appear that lets you set Accessibility Options (an example is shown in the graphic to the left) allowing you to choose from several options that can make your user experience of our site easier according to your specific needs. On the accessibility panel, at the top right, you have the ability to reset your choices if you desire. On the left is a red X that will minimize the panel when you are done making your choices.

Accessibility Tools

If you are assessing your own website, the following items should be on your priority check list:

    • Page Title
    • ALT text on photos, graphics, and illustrations
    • Contrast Ratio
    • Keyboard Access
    • Search
    • Video & Audio alternatives
    • Moving, Flashing, or Blinking content

Additionally, there are several Accessibility Tools that are available to check your website’s accessibility. Please visit this site WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool.
